Are you
looking to add techniques to your existing massage practice to take some
of the strain off your body? Do you want a new lens with which to view
your clients' complaints? If so, this course is for you!
This
course is developed specifically for those currently working as a
professional massage therapist and has 3 main goals:
1) to
provide useful shiatsu techniques to add to your existing practice to take
strain off your own body
2) to
give an introduction to basic Eastern Medical theory and shiatsu theory
3) to
provide useful self-care techniques for the busy professional therapist to
ensure that you can maintain a thriving practice
Shiatsu
is a popular style of Eastern Bodywork that uses comfortable, lean-on
pressure. In this course you will learn a basic thumb sequence, use of
elbow pressure and stretches. You will begin with learning the
fundamentals of shiatsu pressure on the floor, and will progress to
applying appropriate shiatsu pressure when working on the table. In
addition, you will learn self-shiatsu techniques and various self-care
exercises. This course is a mixture of theory and practice, with an
emphasis on the practical components.
