Guided Meditation for Healing

Meditation can be seen as an experience (or state of being) which is always present, waiting to be uncovered, discovered and experienced. In this class, we will explore a variety of meditation techniques and tools, such as sound, breath, movement and visualization, to cultivate awareness and healing at multiple levels, including the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies that will inspire both beginners and more experienced practitioners alike. Some of the benefits of meditation include an increase in mental clarity, self-awareness and emotional resiliency, as well as stress reduction and empowerment. Each session will include a guided visualization, a guided group meditation and an opportunity for dialogue and reflection.

Course Details:

Cost: 10 Sessions for $100 (+tax)

Date & Time: Thursdays; April 7 to June 9, 2011: 7pm to 8pm

Course Instructor: Elisa Hatton

Elisa has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1995 and teaching since 2003. She completed her professional yoga teacher training with The Yoga Sanctuary (Toronto, ON) and integrative yoga therapy teacher training with Body Therapies, a teaching centre for Integrative Yoga Therapy (Dundas, ON). In addition to yoga training, she has over 15 years experience in community development. She is also the founder of Turtle Toes Yoga, a Toronto-based initiative that is committed to creating vibrant and inclusive spaces where individuals and groups can explore and strengthen a deeper connection – through yoga, to themselves, others and the global community. Elisa sees yoga as a natural extension of community development and believes that yoga is for every body. Yoga is a beautiful way to bring communities of people together, from all walks of life: to sit, stretch, strengthen, breathe and heal together.

Elisa is devoted to creating inclusive, empowering and nourishing classes and workshops that are accessible to everyone. Her approach is engaging and gentle, her classes are inspiring, affirming and rejuvenating and can be tailored to meet a wide variety of needs and preferences.
