2200
hours of training in this diploma program prepares students for a
rewarding and successful career as a shiatsu therapist. Students are
exposed to extensive clinic experience while exploring both Eastern and
Western approaches to health and well-being as well as business and
communication training.
Upon completion, students are well rounded shiatsu therapists (Dipl.
S.T.) able to communicate and promote themselves within any form of
shiatsu practice. Students will also be able to accurately treat a
variety of ailments and conditions; making them successful shiatsu
therapists.
The
part time option is only part time for the first two years followed by a
mandatory full time schedule for the final year of study. This is
largely due to the fact that course information in the final year is so
interconnected thus it is essential that students study the final years'
courses at the same time.

Full time vs. Part time:
Full
time Option Information:
By
applying to the full time program, applicants may be eligible for
financial assistance, study both eastern and western sciences while
exploring the hands on component of their studies at the SSC within the
first year of a two year program.
By applying to the part time program students may not be eligible
for financial assistance. The approval is based on each individuals
assessment done at the provincial level (Private Career College 'PCC').
Studies are broken into eastern and western science studies within the
first year, hands on exploration of shiatsu theory and practice
within the second year and required full time studies within in the
final year. The final year of study must be done on a full time basis
due to the extensive hands on involvement students have with their
clinical practice, pathological studies and business development.
