Combined Diploma: Shiatsu & Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture and Shiatsu Therapy Combined Diploma Programs
completed in just over 3 years

Acupuncture is a modality of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that is increasing in popularity in Western culture due to its effectiveness on both acute and chronic health
conditions and specifically in Ontario due to the recent passing of legislation that will
regulate TCM and Acupuncture under a new regulatory body -
The College of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.

Shiatsu  therapy is a form of body work originating in Japan and is based on Traditional Chinese medical (TCM) practices. The shiatsu therapy portion of the program offers students a comprehensive curriculum from both an Eastern and a Western perspective with extensive hands-on experience.

This program might be right for you if…
-you want to work alongside other regulated healthcare professionals

-you are looking for a career in the healthcare field that is both challenging and rewarding

-you recognize the value of alternative and complementary viewpoints in healthcare and health maintenance

-you are looking to learn therapies that complement each other to enhance client care

-you want to attend school full time to complete a combination program in just over three years

-you are capable of a heavy academic course load

The Benefits of Studying the Combination of Shiatsu & Acupuncture…
1. Students learn complimentary therapeutic treatments through hands on training.

2. Shiatsu and Acupuncture are so closely related but provide two very different types of beneficial treatments, often requested by clients who are suffering from chronic pains or ailments. Shiatsu therapy is a popular massage therapy technique that is over 2000 years old. Acupuncture aids in relieving many acute, chronic symptoms as well as addictions and is over 5000 years old.

3. Both modalities have been in existence for over thousands of years and when combined, offer incredible results; which in turn creates a strong clientele base for those interested in becoming self-employed or working within a clinic.

4. Shiatsu offers benefits to those interested in a 'massage' treatment and acupuncture offers a complimentary addition to clients who wish to receive financial reimbursement from most insurance companies.

5.  Students save over $5000.00 by studying a combination of Shiatsu and Acupuncture either together or one after another.

6.  Students are eligible to financial aid and tax breaks while studying Shiatsu therapy at The Shiatsu School of Canada Inc.

7.  Work as a Shiatsu therapist while completing your studies as an Acupuncturist part-time.
