Ronny graduated from a 4-year comprehensive program of study in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and holds a diploma from the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego , California and now teaches in the Acupuncture Program at the Shiatsu School of Canada. He has a clinical track record of thousands of successful treatments for various medical conditions. His fields of expertise cover acupuncture, herbs, nutrition and tuina.

Peter Skrivanic began receiving and studying shiatsu while living in Japan. He returned to Canada to study both shiatsu and acupuncture at SSC. He has been in private practice since 2001, has offered shiatsu in corporate settings, and has been teaching at the SSC since 2003.

He has continued his study of Oriental Medicine, through a year-long internship with a Japanese acupuncturist, as well as pursuing post-graduate study with shiatsu innovator Tetsuro Saito. Peter helped to edit Saito's book "Shin So Shiatsu: Healing the Deeper Meridians," and now teaches post-graduate courses in this style of meridian shiatsu. He recently completed his Master's degree in Medical Anthropology at the University of Toronto, where he focused on how East-Asian medical knowledge is received and transformed in the North American context.

He practices meridian-style shiatsu and is interested in shiatsu's potential as a discipline that facilitates enhanced self-awareness.

Chai Lien LeE, PhD (India)

Chai Lien graduated from the University of Bombay in India in 1976 with an MBBS (medical) degree. She completed a Master of Surgery degree in human anatomy in 1982. Her 30 years of teaching experience includes teaching to students in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and audio-speech therapy, as well as shiatsu. Chai Lien Lee has been working at the Shiatsu School of Canada for over 15 years, teaching and mentoring many shiatsu and acupuncture students. She currently teaches Physiology, Anatomy and Pathology.

Kate Kent, started her career as a ballet dancer in England, dancing in most of the major cities of Europe . An accident forced her to quit ballet and she decided to become a Swedish Massage Therapist, training at the Arnold Taylor School of Massage Therapy in England . She worked in the Massage Therapy Department of Elizabeth Arden in London until she immigrated to Canada in May of 1974 where she was introduced to Chinese Medicine when a member of her family became dangerously ill and tried it as a "last resort". The results were so miraculous that she decided to pursue it further and has never looked back. She studied at the Chinese Medicine Institute in Beijing, China, the Chinese Traditional Medicine Institute in Canada, and the Institute of Traditional Chinese Herbal Therapy in Toronto .

She holds diplomas in both acupuncture and herbs from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the U.S.A. She has appeared numerous times on television and radio, given talks, and written many articles on Chinese Medicine. She has just completed a Test Manual for TCM Examinations: Chinese Herb Guide (500 Questions & Answers to the Most Commonly Used Herbs & Formulas). Kate believes very strongly in the mind/body connection and has expanded her private practice to include what is known as Experiential Dynamic Counseling.

She started teaching Herbology at the Shiatsu School of Canada and has been teaching and supervising in the acupuncture program since 1998.  Kate has maintained a private practice in Toronto since 1985.

WILLIAM HOSSACK,  Dipl. S.T., D.Ac.

Will Hossack is the owner and a practitioner at the Danforth Progressive Health Centre. He has been practicing in the Eastern Medical field since 1999 as a Shiatsu Therapist.  He went on to study Acupuncture and Chinese medicine for 4 years at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences graduating with the Gold Medal for academic achievement.  During his time at the Michener, Will’s clinical experience included 6 months at St. John’s Rehabilitation Centre and 1 year at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Wasser Pain Management Centre. Will held an executive position with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Ontario, serving as Secretary and working with the Examinations Committee for 3 years.   He is currently an instructor at the Shiatsu School of Canada, where he teaches Shiatsu and Acupuncture Theory. Will’s clinical experience is varied and includes treatment for sports injuries, pain, immunological conditions and digestive complaints.

ANNA STRZELECKA, BA., D.Ac., NCCAOM (USA)

Anna Strzelecka received her diploma in Shiatsu Therapy from the Shiatsu School of Canada.  She is also a graduate of the Acupuncture program at The Mitchener Institute for Applied Health Sciences, and was an intern in the Acupuncture Clinic in the Wasser Pain Management Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital .  She is one of the Directors at the Tai Chi Meditation Centre, and is actively involved with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Ontario (STAO), and Friends Of Alternative & Complementary Therapies (FACT).

TAKAMASA TSURUSAKI, Dipl.Ac., Japanese Acupuncturist

Takamasa graduated from Japan Central Acupuncture College in 1986. He is trained in the Uwagawa and Uawada Styles of Acupuncture and Moxabustion, and has studied the Nagano style under Master Nagano and Kiiko Matsumoto. He maintains a private practice in North York.

GEORGE WU, PhD (TCM), Masters (TCM), CMD
Acupuncture Clinic Supervisor
George Wu is a licensed Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and is certified with the Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA) in Canada. He graduated from the Shandong University of TCM in China in 1997.After working two years as a TCM Physician at the Lingxi Duiwu Hosiptal, George Wu continued his studies at the Luzhou Medical College and received his Masters Degree in TCM in 2002.Upon receiving his Masters Degree, George Wu completed his Ph.D of TCM at the TCM College of Hebei Medical University in China.

George Wu moved to Toronto, Canada in 2006 after completing his Ph.D in TCM and has been practicing acupuncture, tuina, herbal medicine, reflexology and acupressure at the ki On College since November 2007.George Wu graduated from over a 10 year comprehensive program of study in TCM and over 12 years experience within the field of TCM.

Chris di tecco, Dipl. Ac, CHM

Chris’ passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine grew from his study of martial arts and T’ai Chi. It was a natural progression which led him to his apprenticeship at a local acupuncture clinic and eventually to formal instruction with Dr. David Lam at the Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Toronto. Graduating with a diploma of acupuncture and a diploma of Chinese herbal medicine Chris went on to gain invaluable clinical experience at several TCM clinics in the greater Toronto area.

Chris has recently started teaching “The Treatment of Disease with Acupuncture” at the Shiatsu school of Canada and also works as a student supervisor at the SSC acupuncture clinic. Chris also operates a private practice in Mississauga.

Lori Eisler, BFA, CST, Dipl. ST
Shiatsu Treatment, Shiatsu Practice, Meditation & Stretching
Lori Eisler, BFA, CST, Dipl. ST is a certified Shiatsu therapist who teaches Shiatsu in the full-time diploma program and instructs meditation and stretching at the Shiatsu School of Canada. 

Lori received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University. She is also a graduate of the Shiatsu School of Canada (1991) and a practicing Certified Shiatsu Therapist. Over the past ten years Lori has been in private practice.  She has also adapted her skills to the workplace providing treatments and seminars on relaxation.  Her former modern dance career and her continuing education and involvement in dance, yoga and Zen Shiatsu exercise are integrated into her classes.

Stephanie Campbell, Dipl. ST, Dipl.Ac.

Stephanie Campbell graduated with high honours from the Shiatsu School of Canada and has been practicing at the ki On College since 2006. Prior to coming to Shiatsu, Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at McMaster University.

Stephanie teaches in the Shiatsu Diploma Program at the SSC. She is also a yoga instructor, having completed her training in both hatha and ashtanga; and brings this additional knowledge of the body to her shiatsu practice. She is currently furthering her education through the study of acupuncture at the Shiatsu School of Canada's Acupuncture Institute.

JENNIFER ARNDT, Dipl. ST
Shiatsu Practice
Jennifer Arndt is a Wellness Specialist, Health Care Practitioner and teacher who brings a great diversity of experience to her work.  Jennifer is a Certified Shiatsu Therapist and graduated from the Shiatsu School of Canada with High Honours in 2006.  She has also been a Qi Gong Practitioner for over 10 years and conducts workshops and classes on a regular basis.  She maintains a private practice in Toronto and facilitates seminars in Canada and the US with a focus on integrating spiritual, emotional and physical health. 

JULIAN YATES, Dipl. ST, Dipl.Ac.
Shiatsu & Acupuncture Clinic Supervisor, Meridian Stretching/Shiatsu Practice
Julian Yates graduated from the SSC's Shiatsu Therapy Program in 2004 and began practicing immediately in the School's professional clinic, Ki on College. He also supervises the Shiatsu school's student clinic helping to shape next year's therapists while feeding back into the clinic that shaped him into the professional he is today. Always keen to further his ability to help those in pain, Julian is studying acupuncture and is gearing up to integrate it into his shiatsu sessions in January 2009.

SUSAN HUBER-YAP, Dipl. ST
Sotai Practice (Shiatsu)
Susan graduated with Honours from the Shiatsu School of Canada’s inaugural class in 1988 with the award for Exemplary Character.  During this schooling, Sotai (movement therapy) appealed to her because of her ongoing interest in other Eastern traditions (e.g. yoga) and her extensive background in sports (including NCCP Level II certified gymnastics coach).  Susan taught Shiatsu in SSC’s certificate program, assisted the Sotai Instructor and furthered her studies before taking over teaching the Sotai course in 2001.

Sotai and it’s principles are incorporated into Susan’s long-standing private practice as a Certified Shiatsu Therapist and Holistic Practitioner. With the aims of supporting health and promoting healing and personal growth for and with her clients and students, Susan continues her own upgrading. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (President’s Honour Roll) and in 2008, her Bachelor of Education.
